Bronx, NY --- The Brooklyn College Softball Team (4-15, 3-8 CUNYAC) earned a 15-4 decision over Lehman College (2-16, 0-6 CUNYAC) in the completion of a conference game that was suspended due to darkness on April 7th.
The Bridges enjoyed a 9-4 lead when the game was halted last week and picked up where they left off this afternoon. Sophomore third baseman
Danielle Maresca (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) went 1-for-3 on the day and recorded four runs batted in. The knockout punch in the contest came with two outs in the fifth inning when freshman catcher
Annie Brown (Bishop Kearney / Brooklyn, NY) drove home a pair of runs with a line drive single into center field.
The offensive explosion was more than enough for junior hurler
Nicole Bianco (Franklin D. Roosevelt / Brooklyn, NY), who went the distance for Bridges. She surrendered only one earned run while striking out a season high eight batters.
Brooklyn will take to the road tomorrow, traveling to the College of St. Elizabeth for a 3:30 pm non-conference double header. The Bridges and the Eagles have split the season series thus far, each winning one game.
