Morristown, NJ---The Brooklyn College Softball Squad (4-17) played two close games at St. Elizabeth, but could not get a win as they lost both games of the Friday afternoon doubleheader, 8-5 & 3-2.
In game 1, St. Elizabeth jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning, but BC came right back with 2 in the top of the second to make it a 1-run game. St. Elizabeth was able to get on the board in the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th innings, for a total of eight runs, while Brooklyn was only able to put up 1 in the 5th and 2 in the 7th.
Nataly Yehezkel (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) and
Anna Abouricheh (Brooklyn Tech / Brooklyn, NY) had 3 hits a piece in the game. Freshman catcher
Antoinette Brown (Bishop Kearney / Brooklyn, NY) had a nice game as well, going 2 for 2 with 3 runs scored.
Game 2 was a more cleanly played game as all 5 runs were scored in the first three innings of the game. Brooklyn's
Kirsten Ingenito (Martin Luther / Woodhaven, NY) pitched 3 and 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. Brown and
Nicole Bianco (FDR / Brooklyn, NY) each had RBI's to account for BC's two runs.
Next on the schedule, is a home doubleheader against Purchase College on Monday, April 20th at 3:30.
