Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels this afternoon at Monsignor Crawford Athletic Field. The Bulldogs took the opener by a score of 10-1 and then took game two by a 10-2 margin to complete the twin bill sweep. With the wins, Brooklyn improves its overall mark to 14-6 on the season.

Junior Kristen Ingenito (Woodhaven, NY/Martin Luther) (2-0) picked up the wins in both games pitching in relief. Ingenito pitched two perfect innings in game one and tossed one inning in the nightcap, walking one and striking out two. Brooklyn shared the pitching workload using five different pitchers in the doubleheader. Elizabeth Johnson started and finished both games fort the Blue Angels.

Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by Junior Danielle Maresca (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) who went a perfect 6-for-6 on the day in both games combined, to go along with four RBI and three runs scored. Freshman Danielle Bravakos (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) and sophomore Nicole Barrasso (Brooklyn, NY/New Utrecht) both had multi-RBI games in the opener driving home two runs apiece.

Brooklyn will be back in CUNYAC action this Tuesday, April 13th, when the Bulldogs will play host to the College of Staten Island. First pitch is slated for 3:30 pm at Monsignor Crawford Athletic Field.
