BC Softball Splits Afternoon Doubleheader With Old Westbury

Old Westbury, NY---The Brooklyn College Softball Team (8-4) dropped game one, 9-1, but then came back in the second game to top Old Westbury (6-7), 6-0, on Friday afternoon.

Nicole Barrasso (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY) came up big in the pitching circle in game two, going seven shutout innings, striking out four along the way.

Lisa Morro (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY), Tess Studholme (Notre Dame / Kent, England) and Samantha Lombardi (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY) each had multi-hit games in the nightcap for the Bulldogs, as the trio combined to go 7-for-10 with 4 RBI and 4 runs scored on the day.

In game one, Old Westbury's Deborah Ciccarelli (Smithtown East / Smithtown, NY) pitched six innings of two-hit ball, giving up only one run.

Brooklyn will be back in action on Monday as they travel to Newark, New Jersey to face the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark.
