Game 1 Box Score

Game 2 Box Score

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Softball Team (16-15-1, 7-7 CUNYAC) dropped a pair of league games on Saturday to first place Baruch (17-19, 11-1 CUNYAC), 10-4, 12-0, their final home games of the 2010 season.

Game one, which was an early 10 am start, saw both teams score runs early as Baruch took a 3-0 advantage in the top half of the first as Idelissa Lluveras (Aquinas / Bronx, NY) had a big 2-RBI single.

The Bulldogs got a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning as junior Danielle Maresca (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) hit a solo home run over the left field fence to close the gap to 3-1.

After being held scoreless in the second, the Bearcats were able to put up a combined six runs over the next three innings, while Brooklyn could only manage to add one more, upping the Baruch lead to 9-2 to end the fifth.

Baruch added another in the top of the seventh, before the Bulldogs' Lisa Morro (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY) tried to ignite a late rally by smacking a two-run home run to cut the deficit to 10-4.  Ashley Allen (William C. Bryant / Sunnyside, NY) and Samantha Lombardi (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY) each followed with singles, but the follwing two batters were retired in order to end the game.

For Maresca and Morro's home runs were each their fifth on the season.

Game two saw Baruch starting pitcher Nicole Flint (Brentwood / Brentwood, NY) dominate, as she allowed only one hit while striking out 8 in five innings of work.  The 12-0 win saw Baruch score five runs in the second, five in the fourth and two in the fifth.

The Brooklyn College Senior Day festivities honored seniors Jenna Ferrara (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY), Miriam Alicea (Fashion Industries / Brooklyn, NY) and Ruth Perez (EBC Bushwick / Brooklyn, NY).  Ferrara is a four-year senior who has been one of the cornerstones of the team for the duration of her career.

Brooklyn will play York in a make-up of last week's postponed doubleheader before heading into the first round of the CUNYAC Tournament on May 5th.
