Cross Country Teams Defeat Staten Island in Dual Meet

Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams were both victorious in a dual meet against the College of Staten Island on Sunday morning at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY, as the BC Men out paced CSI by a score of 26-32; while the BC Women got the better of the Dolphins, 21-40.

In the Men's 8K race, CSI had the first two finishers; however, the Bulldogs would have the next four finishers en route to their 26-32 win.

The Dolphins' Samuel Obisanya was the first runner to finish with a time of 29:23.

The first BC runner to cross the finish line was senior Patrick O'Leary-Gullo, who ran a time of 31:23, good for third place; while sophomore Moshe Bressler (31:32), senior Joseph Dweck (31:41) and sophomore Rowan Vassell (32:33), finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Sophomore Michael Tenebruso was the fifth scorer for the Bulldogs, finishing with a time of 32:44, good for eighth place.

In the Women's 6K race, Brooklyn freshman Megan Junglander (28:49) and senior Deanna Carrington (29:26) finished first and second, respectively, to pace the Bulldogs to their 21-40 win.

Rounding out the top-five finishers for BC, were sophomores Stefanie Steel (30:10), Priscilla Mensah (31:17) and Analy Ramirez (32:51), coming in fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively.
