Centerville, MA --- The Brooklyn College Softball team has been selected to play in the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Softball Championships. The Bulldogs are the #6 seed and will travel to #3 seed The SUNY College at Old Westbury in the first round today, Thursday, May 10th.
First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex on the campus of SUNY Old Westbury in Old Westbury, NY. Live stats for the game will also be available via

The winner will move on to the double elimination round to play against #2 Sage Colleges on Saturday, May 12th at #1 seed and host Richard Stockton College in Galloway, NJ. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
BC last made the ECAC DIII Metro Softball Championships in 2010.
Brooklyn and Old Westbury met earlier this season in a non-conference doubleheader back on March 18th, as the Panthers swept the visiting Bulldogs by scores of 3-1 and 6-2.
In her first season in Brooklyn, junior center fielder
Kim Konklewski, a transfer from Suffolk County Community College, has been solid for BC at the leadoff spot hitting .425 (54-for-127) with 26 runs scored and 18 RBI. Sophomore short stop
Allison Donovan has had another stellar season, batting .343 (35-for-102) with 10 doubles, to go along with 21 runs scored and 17 RBI. Classmate right fielder
Meagan Cranston has also had a strong season with a .316 (36-for-114) batting average and 23 runs scored and 15 RBI.
Sophomore first basemen
Stephanie Caravello (30 RBI and 25 runs scored) and freshman third basemen
Maria Mantagas (20 RBI) have also been vital to the Bulldogs' offense this season.
Sophomore starting pitcher
Marie Oneto has been the ace of the Brooklyn staff, posting a 16-11 record with a 2.48 ERA. She has made 29 appearances (26 starts) on the year, while logging 164 innings and striking out 110 batters.
BC earned a spot in this year's ECAC Metro field after posting a 19-19 overall record.
