Softball Sweeps Purchase 11-3, 6-2; Improves To 4-0

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Brooklyn, NY---For the second consecutive evening, the Brooklyn College Bulldogs Softball team took both games of a non-conference doubleheader, 11-3, 6-2, improving their record on the young season to a perfect 4-0.

Brooklyn only needed five innings in game one as the Bulldog bats jumped all over Purchase starter Rebecca Pascarelli, scoring 11 runs on seven hits, while driving in 10 of the 11 runs.  Pascarelli also walked 12 BC batters on the evening.

Junior firstbasemen Stephanie Caravello was 1-2 on the day, but also walked twice, scored twice and had two RBI in the win.  Sophomore pitcher Kaylay Hill got her second win in as many outings, and also got the offense started in the first with an RBI triple to give Brooklyn the 1-0 advantage.

In game two, the Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, but BC came right back in the bottom of the inning with two runs on RBI singles from Samantha Rodriguez and Amanda Bisz.

Bisz, who came in the game to pitch in relief of injured Marie Oneto, did a marvelous job of only giving up two runs to earn her first win as a Bulldog.

Brooklyn will be back at it tomorrow afternoon as they host Rutgers Newark at 12 pm.
