Box Score 2 Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead in game one of Wednesday's Softball doubleheader and then held on for the 5-3 victory over Old Westbury, while in game two the Panthers showed their muscle with a 6-0 decision in the night cap. BC is now 6-2 on the year, while Old Westbury's record goes to 5-3.
Sophomore hurler
Kayla Hill got the job done for Brooklyn in game one pitching a complete game to earn her third win of the season. Hill helped her cause with an RBI single in the fifth, while
Stephanie Caravello and Stephanie Rodriguez, the team's #3 and #4 hitters each drove in two runs in the victory.
Alyssa Clancy, Old Westbury's starter, gave up all five runs, with four being earned, in defeat, however the southpaw showed her value in game two, shutting the Bulldogs out while only yielding four hits.
The Panther bats also came alive, led by Jennifer Jean, who was three for three, including an impressive home run over the left-center fence. Jean was a double away from the cycle and drove in two runs.
Rodriguez continued to swing a hot bat for BC, with two hits in game two.
Brooklyn will return to action on Monday as they head to the Bronx for a CUNY Athletic Conference doubleheader against the Lightning of Lehman College. The pair of conference games are scheduled to begin at 12 pm.
