Box Score 2 Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Softball Team wrapped up their regular season on Tuesday evening by dropping a doubleheader to visiting Briarcliffe College, 3-0, 11-2. As custom for the final regular season home game, seniors
Kim Konklewski and
Norah Marley were honored with a ceremony.
Briarcliffe improves to 28-6 on the season, while Brooklyn finishes the regular season with a 21-14 overall record as they will begin the CUNYAC Tournament as the #3 seed and host Lehman College in the first round on Wednesday, May 1st.
Today's action began with a pitchers' duel in game one, as Briarcliffe's Jillian McGovern and BC's
Kayla Hill each turned in great performances, but McGovern's was just a bit better as she shutout Brooklyn over seven innings to pick up the 3-0 victory.
Hill struck out three, while only giving up two earned runs in seven innings.
Game two saw the Brooklyn bats earn an early 1-0 lead for the home team, but Briarcliffe's bats also woke up and the visitors put 11 runs up to get the six-inning victory, after going up by nine runs, for an 11-2 win.
Brooklyn did not help their cause as they committed three errors, as only four of the runs given up by starting pitcher
Marie Oneto were earned.
Konklewski and junior
Stephanie Caravello had two hits a piece to lead BC in game two, while
Amanda Bisz had two knocks in game one.
Brooklyn will be back in action next Wednesday when they host Lehman in the CUNYAC first round with the winner headed to the College of Staten Island for the double elimination round of the Championships that will take place on May 3rd and 4th.
