Box Score Staten Island, NY --- The #3 seeded Brooklyn College Softball team fell to the #2 seeded College of Staten Island Dolphins on day one of the 2013 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) / Applebee's Softball Championships by a score of 4-1.
The Bulldogs (22-15) will now play #1 Baruch College in an elimination game beginning at 4:00 pm today.
Baruch fell to #4 Hunter College, 5-4, in the first game of the day.
CSI and Hunter will play at 6:00 pm in the winner's game.
Brooklyn was led by senior
Kim Konklewski, junior
Stephanie Caravello and sophomore
Kayla Hill, who all had two hits in the game.
BC got on the board first, as Konklewski came around to score the opening run in the top of the third.
The Dolphins would answer with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and two more runs in the bottom of the sixth, en route to their 4-1 win.
CSI's Samantha Tallarine went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Danielle Locke went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Stefanie Solari and and Maxine Jasko also had two hits each in the game.
Hill took the loss in the circle, allowing four runs on 12 hits, while walking one over six innings of work. Her counterpart, Victoria Procopio picked up the win, giving up one unearned run on seven hits, while walking one and striking out two over seven innings.
