Box Score 2 Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Softball team extended its winning streak to nine straight on Saturday afternoon at BC Field, as the Bulldogs swept the Cardinals of York College in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) doubleheader. The Bulldogs took the opener, 7-1; before cruising to a 16-2 (five innings) win in game two.
With the wins, BC improves to 17-9 overall on the season and 6-2 in the CUNYAC; while York drops to 5-12 overall on the year and 1-6 in conference play.
In game one, senior
Amanda Bisz contributed with her arm and her bat. Starting the game in the circle, Bisz tossed six strong innings, allowing just one unearned run on two hits, while walking two batters and striking out 10 York hitters to improve to 3-1 on the year. At the plate, Bisz helped herself, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Seniors

Kayla Hill and sophomore
Samantha Rodriguez all had two hits in the game. Cranston, Rodriguez, Donovan and junior
Kristina Bermudez all drove in a run.
Kimberly Brennan finished the game for BC, striking out one batter in one inning of work.
For York, Geneva Faulk scored the Cardinals' lone run taking advantage of a BC fielding miscue, while Priscilla Lallave (2-7) took the loss, allowing seven runs on 11 hits, while walking two and striking out two over six innings.
In game two, the Bulldogs scored early and often, plating nine runs in the first, two in the second and five more in the third, as Brooklyn would go on to cruise to the 16-2 win. The game would end in the fifth inning via the run rule.
Hill paced the offense going 2-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored, while junior
Maria Mantagas went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Senior

Nathalie DeJesus and Rodriguez all drove in two runs each. Rodriguez and Donovan also had multi-hit games, as Brooklyn pounded out 14 hits.
Hill (8-3) picked up the win, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits, while walking one and striking out two in four innings of work. Brennan again would finish the game, striking out one in one inning of work. Her counterpart, Lallave (2-8) took her second loss of the day, allowing eight runs (one earned) on five hits, while walking two in just 2/3 innings. Michelle Deleon pitched the final 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing eight runs (two earned) on nine hits, while walking six and striking out two.
Karen Werner went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for York, while Angelika Ruggiano went 2-for-2.
Brooklyn returns to the diamond on Wednesday, April 16th, as the Bulldogs will hit the road to take on the Hawks of Hunter College in a key CUNYAC doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm at Randall's Island.
