Box Score 2 Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Softball team took a pair of games from the Hawks of Hunter College on Wednesday afternoon in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) doubleheader, as the Bulldogs took the opener, 3-1; before going on to win 9-1 (six innings) in the nightcap to complete the sweep.
With the wins, Brooklyn improves to 19-9 overall on the year and 8-2 in the CUNYAC to take sole possession of second place. The Bulldogs have also now won 11 straight. Hunter drops to 9-12 overall on the season and 6-4 in conference play.
In the opener, the Bulldogs got on the board first as junior

Allison Donovan in the third on a sacrifice bunt. Brooklyn would add two more runs in the fourth, as senior
Stephanie Caravello's two run double plated classmates
Meagan Cranston and
Amanda Bisz to give BC a 3-0 advantage.
Hunter would eventually get on the board in the seventh, when Briana Lombardo singled home Victoria Slavik to make it 3-1 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Senior
Marie Oneto (6-4) picked up the win for Brooklyn, allowing just one run on four hits, while striking out five over seven innings. Her counterpart, Sara Beck (4-4) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits, while walking one and striking out five over seven innings.
Game two featured a pitcher's duel between Bisz and Erika Colangelo, as the game was scoreless through the first four innings.
The Bulldogs would again be the first to score, as sophomore
Samantha Rodriguez's RBI single scored junior
Kayla Hill in the fifth.
The Hawks would answer with a run of their own in the fifth, as Briana Kresback's RBI single drove home Toniann Kirk to tie the game at 1-1.
BC'S offense would explode for eight runs on six hits in the sixth, as the Bulldogs would put the game away, 9-1. The game would end after six innings via the run rule.
Rodriguez's two-run triple that scored Cranston and Bell helped to break the game open. RBI doubles from both Bell and Bisz and an RBI single from junior
Maria Mantagas all fueled the eight-run rally.
Bisz (4-1) picked up the win, allowing one unearned run on just two hits, while walking two and striking out four over six innings. Colangelo (3-6) took the loss, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits, while walking three and striking out two over 5 and 2/3 innings. Sierra Noud pitched the final 1/3 inning allowing an unearned run.
Brooklyn will be back in action Friday, April 18th, as the Bulldogs will travel to Purchase, NY to take on the Valiants of Manhattanville College in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
