Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 Purchase, NY---The Brooklyn College Softball Team saw their 11-game win streak snapped on Friday afternoon as they played non-conference opponent Manhattanville College, falling to the Valiants in both games of a doubleheader, 8-0, 6-3. Brooklyn falls to 19-9 on the year while Manhattanville improves to 19-7.
In game one, the pitching duo of
Kimberly Brennan and
Marie Oneto could not slow down the Valiant offense, as pitcher Alyssa Taylor hit her 10th home run on the year to lead her squad to eight runs in five innings. The hurler also was brilliant in the circle, holsing the Bulldog offense to only one hit.
Game two saw BC come back to touch Taylor for three fifth inning runs, to cut a 6-0 deficit to 6-3, but that would be as close as the Bulldogs would get as Taylor would earn her second win on the day. The Valiants would hit three home runs off Brooklyn's
Kayla Hill, including the second on the day from Taylor, who tied a school record as that was her 11th round-tripper of the year.
Sophomore
Arislenia Rodriguez led Brooklyn with two hits in game two, while scoring one of the Bulldog runs.
The team will be back home tomorrow as they take on Lehman on Senior Day at 12 pm in a conference doubleheader.
