Box Score 2 Holtsville, NY --- The Brooklyn College Softball team split its non-conference doubleheader on Saturday on the road, as the Bulldogs dropped game one, 7-6, in nine innings, before bouncing back to take game two 7-6.
Brooklyn moves to an even 9-9 overall on the season.
In the opener, sophomore
Samantha Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored, while senior
Amanda Bisz, junior
Kayla Hill and sophomore
Arislenia Rodriguez all had two hits each. Senior
Meagan Cranston scored twice in the game.
Emily Mazzaro had a big game for the home team, going 2-for-5 with four RBI. Ashley Gesmondi went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
In game two, senior
Allison Donovan went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Classmate
Stephanie Caravello went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Hill and
Samantha Rodriguez each had two hits.
Mazzaro continued to have big day for Briarcliffe, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Lyndsay Coppola went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Hill picked up the win for Brooklyn in game two, allowing six runs (three earned) on nine hits, while walking two and striking out two over seven innings.
BC will return to action on Monday, April 7th, as the Bulldogs will travel to Old Westbury, NY to take on the Panthers of SUNY College at Old Westbury in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
