Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball team dropped a tight City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match against Hawks of Hunter College on Thursday evening at the West Quad Center.
In what was matchup of undefeated teams in conference play, the Hawks got the better of the Bulldogs in straight sets, 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-20). With the loss, BC falls to 4-8 overall and 3-1 in the CUNYAC, while Hunter improves to an even 7-7 overall and remains perfect in conference action at 4-0.
The match featured back-and-forth action all night long, as the teams combined for 19 ties and nine lead changes throughout the three sets.
Yelizaveta Malysheva led the Bulldogs with seven kills, while
Francesca LoCascio and
Christolia Butler each chipped in with six kills. LoCascio also added 11 digs to record a double-double.
Jessica Yin paced the offense with 18 assists, while
Crystal Wu contributed to the defensive effort with 11 digs.
For Hunter, Julia Connolly finished with eight kills, while Angelica Mae Aquino added six kills. Connolly also added 12 digs on the night. Taylor Kordich and Kristine Ciurcina each paced the offense with 11 assists and 10 assists, respectively. Lucia Stosic made her presence felt at the net with four solo blocks.
Brooklyn returns to action on Monday, September 22nd, as the Bulldogs will travel to Old Westbury, NY to take on the Panthers of the College at Old Westbury. The match is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time. Live stats will be available.
