Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball team dropped a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match on Thursday evening at the West Quad Center to the Lightning of Lehman College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-13).
BC now stands at 5-9 overall and 3-2 in the CUNYAC, while Lehman improves 7-8 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Brooklyn was led by junior
Yelizaveta Malysheva's seven kills. Freshman
Jessica Yin dished out 11 assists, while classmate
Monineath Pen contributed with 13 digs. Sophomore
Francesca LoCascio finished the night with five kills, two blocks and an ace.
The Lightning's Salveira Gonzalez posted a match-best 13 kills, to go with three aces and a block, while Cari English added seven kills and two blocks. Imani Dubois paced the offense with 18 assists, while Lizette Medina chipped in with 12 digs.
Lehman took the first and third sets with relative ease, while the second set saw a tight match with eight ties and two lead changes.
Brooklyn returns to action tomorrow, Friday, September 26th, as the Bulldogs will travel to Hoboken, NJ to take part in the 2014 Stevens Invitational. BC will open against host Stevens and Ramapo. Brooklyn will conclude the invitational on Saturday against NYU and Richard Stockton.
