Box Score Arlington, VA---Outscored in each of the first two periods of the consolation game of the Pablo Coto Memorial Tournament, the BC women's basketball team turned things around in the second half, defeating Averett University (2-2), 71-62.  The Bulldogs will return to Brooklyn with a 2-2 overall record.  NEXT UP: BC opens up CUNYAC play on Tuesday, November 24th, at CCNY.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM as part of a double-header with men who will tip-off at 7:00 PM.
 
Trailing 30-28 at halftime, the Bulldogs put together a 16-0 run to start the third period that Averett wouldn't answer until the 5:23 mark in the same period. 
 
The Cougars would go on a run of their own towards the end of the third quarter, which would only have them trailing the Bulldogs by four points going into the final period. 
 
Averett carried that momentum into the fourth period, and cut the BC lead to only a point with a little over six minutes to play in the contest.  However, the Bulldogs extended their lead to six with 4:58 to go on a Taylor Gallagher three-point make. 
 
After blocking a shot, junior center Maya Agee-Thomas knocked down a jumper on an assist from Olivia Colbert that extended the BC to eight with 3:49 remaining in the game. 
 
Colbert scored a lay-up with 2:12 left in the game, giving the Bulldogs an eleven-point lead and plenty of breathing room for BC to close out the game. 
 
Happy with team's performance especially in the second half Head Coach Alex Lang said, "Our energy to start the second half was great and carried us to win.  It was great to come out with a win."
 
Olivia Colbert was named to the All-Tournament team.  The junior forward tallied 30 points and 19 rebounds during the two-game tourney including an 18-point, 9-rebound performance today.
 
Junior guard Twanda Holder added sixteen points and five rebounds against the Cougars today.
