Staten Island, NY --- The #3 seeded Brooklyn College Bulldogs fell to the #2 seeded Hawks of Hunter College, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon, day two of the 2015 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC)/Pepsi Softball Championships. The loss eliminates BC from the double elimination championships.

The Hawks did all their damage in the bottom of the fifth, as Hunter scored three runs on four hits and a costly Brooklyn error. Victoria Slavik doubled to left field to bring home Briana Kresback for the first run of the game, while Slavik would come around to score on an error. Nicole Fillisetti's RBI single would cap the three-run inning plating Stefanie Abolt.

Brooklyn would get on the board in the top of the sixth, as Kimberly Brennan's RBI single scored Samantha Rodriguez, to make it 3-1. However, the Hawks would eventually close out the game to avoid elimination and advance to take on host and #1 seed College of Staten Island.

Sara Beck picked up the win for Hunter, surrendering one run on six hits, while allowing one walk and striking out four over 5.2 innings of work. Erika Colangelo finished the game, allowing just one hit and striking out two over 1.1 innings.

Kayla Hill suffered the loss for BC, allowing three runs (one earned) on eight hits, while walking two and striking out three over 4.2 innings. Ashley Tkacsik finished the game, allowing three hits over 1.1 innings.

Rodriguez had a multi-hit game for BC, while Slavik went 3-for-4 for the Hawks. Kresback and Abolt and Fillisetti all had two hits apiece for Hunter.

Brooklyn moves to 20-18 overall on the season and will now await a possible selection into the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Softball Championships. The selections will be announced on Monday, May 4th.
