Weehawken, NJ --- The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (21-19) took full advantage of their second chance, as Brooklyn eliminated the Gators of The Sages Colleges (18-17) on day one of the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro/Upstate Softball Championships on Saturday afternoon at Weehawken Waterfront Park.
BC defeated Sage, 4-2, in the elimination game to advance to day two tomorrow. Sage lost its first game of the day against Hunter College, 8-4, to play in the loser's bracket.

Brooklyn will return to the diamond tomorrow, Sunday, May 10th against Hunter in a rematch of the First Round meeting earlier in the week. The game will be the sixth of the season (fourth in the month of May)Â between the two teams, as the Hawks currenty hold a 3-2 advantage on the year. The teams split their regular season meeting, while the teams traded victories in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championships.Â
The loser of the BC/Hunter game tomorrow will be eliminated, while the winner will advance to game five of the championships against Stevens. Either Hunter or Brooklyn will need to beat the Ducks twice on Sunday to win the ECAC Championship, while Stevens will need just one win to seal the title.
