Bronxville, NY---With the postseason fast approaching, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team has hit a stride, winning their fourth match in a row this evening on the road, defeating Sarah Lawrence 3-2 (25-16, 24-26, 25-19, 19-25, 15-10). The Bulldogs improve to 7-16 with the non-conference victory. SLC moves down to 12-7. Brooklyn returns to action this weekend as they take part in the Arcadia University Knight Invitational. On Friday the Bulldogs will take on Rutgers-Camden and Albright at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm rexpectively.
After splitting the first two sets, the Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead with a 25-19 victory in the third set. However, the home team responded once again, forcing a fifth set after jumping out to a 12-4 lead to eventually hold on to a 25-19 victory.
Brooklyn would not be phased by the fourth set defeat as they rolled to a 4-0 lead to start the deciding game thanks in part to back-to-back
Francesca LoCascio service aces. Leading 14-10, junior outside hitter
Sarina Rozek put the Gryphons away for good with her match-high 28th kill of the evening.
Along with Rozek's monster night, LoCascio had a stellar evening of own finishing with 16 kills. Sophomore setter
Monineath Pen racked up 48 assists for the match.
Brooklyn is coming off of a conference tri-match sweep on Monday with 3-0 wins against Staten Island and Medgar Evers.
