Glenside, PA---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team had their four-game winning streak snapped this evening on the first evening of the Knight Invitational hosted by Arcadia University. In the their first match, the Bulldogs were defeated 3-0 by Rutgers-Camden. Brooklyn drowpped their second match later on in the evening to Albright University. The Bulldogs move to 7-18 with the losses. Brooklyn will wrap up the Knight Invitational tomorrow, 10/15, against Rutgers-Newark.
In their first match, the Bulldogs would keep the first two sets close until hitting rough patches halfway through the games. Rutgers-Camden would take the first two sets 25-10 and 25-21 respectively. Only trailing 21-20, the Bulldogs gave up four of the final five points in the second set. RC rolled from the beginning in the third set, scoring 12 of the final 13 points of the match. Brooklyn was led by outside hitter

Brooklyn made things closer in the second match, but wasn't able to pull out a set. Their best chance came in the second set as they broke out of the gate with a 4-1 lead. Brooklyn extended the lead to 12-5 a few points later. However, the Lions countered with a seven-point run to take a 14-13 lead. BC then scored three straight to retake the lead 16-14, but it would be their last advantage of the game as the Lions retook the lead for good with four straight scores. The Bulldogs return home on Thursday, October 20, to host local foe St. Joseph's College Brooklyn. Opening serve is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
