Glenside, PA---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team dropped their final match of the Knight Invitational hosted by Arcadia University to Rutgers-Newark this afternoon. Brooklyn falls to 7-19 with the non-conference defeat. The Bulldogs will play their final non-conference road match of the season at Maritime on Thursday.
After going toe-to-toe with the Scarlet Raiders in the opening set, but eventually outscored 25-21, the Bulldogs dropped the next two sets 25-11, 25-11. With the Bulldogs in control of the first half of the first set, Rutgers-Newark went on a six-point tear giving them an 18-16 advantage and the lead for good. Brooklyn led by as many as five points early in the first set.
Brooklyn was led by senior middle blocker
Francesca LoCascio who finished with seven kills. Fellow senior blocker
Christolia Butler added four kills.
Junior outside hitter
Sarina Rozek was named to the All-Tournament team finishing with a team-high 16 kills in the three matches played.
