Purchase, NY---The Brooklyn College women's volleyball team snapped a six-game skid this evening, prevailing to a 3-1 win over Purchase on the road. Brooklyn moves to 4-16 overall with the non-conference win. The Bulldogs will have the weekend off to prepare for a CUNYAC tri-match at Staten Island where they will take on CSI and Medgar Evers.
The Bulldogs rolled in the first two sets to 25-8 and 25-7 victories. Already leading 6-3 to start the match, BC scored 16 straight points to take a dominating 22-3 lead. The Bulldogs didn't let up in the second set, jumping out to a 6-0 lead. Leading 7-3, Brooklyn made another crushing run, rattling off eight straight points for a 15-3 lead.
The Panthers avoided the shutout in the third set, coming back from an 8-0 deficit. With Brooklyn leading 20-17, the Panthers took the lead for good with a 6-0 run of their own eventually taking the set 25-21.
Brooklyn returned to the team that won the first two sets in fourth set. The Bulldogs grabbed a 10-1 lead to start the fourth set and continued to go on streaks throughout the set until the match was won 25-9.
