Brooklyn, NY---With every set going back and forth until the end, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team hung tough in every set to sweep the College of Staten Island, 3-0, in the CUNYAC Championships quarterfinal to advance to the semifinal round on Friday at Baruch. The Bulldogs will take on #1 Hunter College in the latter of the two semifinals. The winner will play for the CUNYAC Championship that same evening at 8:00 pm.

Jailene Paredes would sub in and serve up two straight aces to give BC a one point advantage. CSI would knot the game on the next next serve. However, the Bulldogs closed out the set with two straight kills by senior middle blocker
Francesca LoCascio for the 27-25 victory.
Brooklyn carried their momentum into the third set, jumping out to a 4-1 lead. The Dolphins answered like they had all evening long with six straight to take an early 8-5 lead. The lead changed hands through the middle of the set with the Dolphins having the upper hand down the stretch with a 22-19 advantage. Brooklyn didn't give up and scored six straight to win the set 25-22.

Christolia Butler's 12 kills and three blocks. Junior outside hitter
Sarina Rozek added eight kills and a block. She also finished with four service aces on the evening.
