Brooklyn, NY---Trailing the entire game, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team had a two-game win-streak snapped this evening, falling at Medgar Evers, 89-72, in the CUNYAC Battle of Brooklyn. Brooklyn moves to 18-6 overall and 10-5 in the CUNYAC. The Cougars improve to 12-12 and 9-6 in the conference. Brooklyn will close out the regular season at Baruch on Tuesday, February 16, in a CUNYAC doubleheader. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM following the women's game that tips off at 5:30 PM.
Falling behind by as many as 21 points in the first five minutes of the second half, the Bulldogs did not lay down, cutting the Cougar lead to 61-53 with 10:56 remaining in the game. Senior guard
Egzon Gjonbalaj scored ten points during the 15-2 run. After a 6-0 Cougar response, the Bulldogs cut the lead back down to eight with 9:17 left in the game. However, MEC answered again, this time with a 7-0 run that gave them the cushion they needed to close out the contest.
The Cougars took a 15-5 lead within the first four minutes of the contest. MEC led by as many as 18 points in the first half. The Cougars outscored the Bulldogs 19-6 off of turnovers.

Egzon Gjonbalaj's 24 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard
Jamel Gist added 15 points as the only other Bulldog to reach double-figures in scoring.
MEC guard Matthew Lee led all scorers with 32 points.
