Brooklyn, NY---In only their second home match of the season, the BC men's volleyball team dropped a 0-3 (22, 19, 15) CUNYAC match to York this evening. The Bulldogs fall to 5-10 overall on the season and 2-4 in conference play. York improved to 5-8 and 3-4 with the sweep. Brooklyn will have a few days to regroup before continuing their conference schedule at CCNY on March 2. Opening serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
The Bulldogs showed signs early of winning their second conference match in a row after coming back from a 0-2 at Lehman last week for the 3-2 victory. However, tied 21-21 in the opening game, York was able to score four of the next five points for the upper-hand in the match.
Trailing 23-15 in the second game, the Bulldogs made a valiant effort to get themselves out of the hole, rallying for three straight points. York was able to close out the match scoring two out of the next three points.
In an effort to force a fourth game, the Bulldogs took a 7-6 lead early in the game. The Cardinals responded with three unanswered. With the Bulldogs only trailing by three points, York would pull away with four straight points, which the Bulldogs would not be able to recover from.
Brooklyn was led by sophomore middle hitter
Rudy Zhao's eight kills. Freshman outside hitter
Vaughn Titus added six kills.
