New York, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped their second CUNYAC match in a row this evening, falling to CCNY in three sets (23-25, 21-25, 14-25). BC drops 5-11 overall and 2-5 in-conference. The Beavers improve to 5-9 and 4-4 in the CUNYAC. BC will continue conference play at Hunter on Saturday in a multi-match. The Bulldogs will take on York and host, Hunter during the day.
With the Bulldogs jumping out to a 6-3 lead early in the first game, the Beavers would respond and grabbed an 11-8 lead. BC came within a point of CCNY, 18-17, towards the middle of the game. However, the Beavers pulled off a couple of points in a row twice down the stretch to seal the game.
Both teams played another close game in the second. With the lead changing hands throughout the better half of the game, CCNY scored three straight points to take a 23-19 lead they wouldn't look back on.
In the third, CCNY jumped out to a 12-2 lead to start the match that proved to be too much for the Bulldogs to come back from. Trailing 19-8, BC made one last run to try to force another game, scoring five straight points. However, the Beavers responded with five staright points of their own to take a commanding 24-12 lead.
BC was led by sophomore middle hitter
Rudy Zhao's 12 points on 12 kills. Freshman outside hitter
