Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team rolled in three games at St. Joseph's College Brooklyn this evening to improve to 4-6 overall on the season. SJCBK drops to 1-1 with the non-conference defeat. The Bulldogs get back on the road at Albertus Magnus on Wednesday in New Haven, CT looking to sweep the season series with the Falcons having already beaten them at the West Quad Center last Wednesday, 3-1.
Game 1- The Bulldogs scored six straight after leading 6-5 to start the match, giving them a commanding 12-5 advantage.
- St. Joe's managed to score two in a row to cut the BC lead down to 17-8. However, the Bulldogs responded with a five-point barrage that the Bears could not answer.
- BC won the game on an attack error.
Game 2 - Leading 4-3, the Bulldogs scored three straight for a 7-3 advantage early in the game.
- BC kept their distance the remainder of the match.
- The home team did manage to score four in a row late in the game to cut the BC lead down to 20-12.
- The Bulldogs won on two points in a row on a Rudy Zhao kill and a Bears' attack error.
Game 3- Tied 3-3 to start the game, the Bulldogs pulled away early scoring four in a row for the 7-3 advantage. Following a Bears' point, the Bulldogs rattled off ten more in a row taking a commanding 17-4 lead.
- Brooklyn won the match on a St. Joe's service error.
Leading the Bulldogs- Sophomore captain Rudy Zhao scored 15.5 points including 12 kills and 3 service aces.
- Freshman outside hitter and CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, Vaughn Titus, scored 12.5 points including nine kills and three service aces. He also led BC with six digs on the evening.
- Freshman setter Sayuj Zachariah finished the match with 21 assists.
