Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team fell in CUNYAC action tonight to second-place Baruch tonight in straight sets. BC drops to 6-15 overall and 3-8 in the CUNYAC. The Bearcats improve to 11-9 overall and 10-1 in conference play. Brooklyn will be back in action on Thursday at Medgar Evers. Opening serve is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
Despite the Bulldogs jumping out to a 2-0 lead to start the match, the Bearcats would respond in dominant fashion, scoring seven straight points to take a five point lead. BC never managed to recover from the early Baruch run, eventually dropping the first game, 14-25.
The Bulldogs would go toe-to-toe with the regular-season CUNYAC championship contender, leading 10-8 to start the second game. However, the Bearcats scored five straight including back-to-back kills to cap the run, and take a 13-10 lead. With the Bulldogs trailing 11-13 a couple of points later, Baruch scored six straight and never looked back to win the second game, 25-17.
Reminiscent of the second game, the Bulldogs would take an early 8-6 lead to start the third game. Still leading 9-7, Baruch would turn the tables scoring six straight and take the lead for good to sweep the match.
