Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College softball team dropped two games in a CUNYAC doubleheader against Lehman this evening. BC drops to 0-4 to start conference play and 0-6 overall on the young season. Lehman picked up their first two conference wins of the season to improve to 2-6 in the CUNYAC and 3-11 overall.
On the verge of Brooklyn winning their first game of the season under first-year head coach,
Antoinette Brown, Lehman scored three runs in the top of the seventh and final inninging to grab a 6-4 lead. The Bulldogs managed a single in the bottom of the seventh but weren't able to capatalize. BC jumped on the Lighting in the bottom of the first, taking a 2-0 lead on a couple of Lehman mishaps in the field. The Lightning responded in the top of the seocnd inning in similar fashion to tie the game 2-2. The Bulldogs would retake the lead with a
Brianna Preston RBI single that knocked in
Breanna Maresca who walked to start the bottom of the bottom of the fourth inning. BC added to their lead in the next inning as
Samantha Rodriguez smashed an RBI double driving in
Michelle Cranston who reached on an error and turned to second base. Lehman cut the BC lead to a run in the top of the sixth starting with lead-off single that led to a score.
Rodrriguez was three for four in the first game including a double. Despite the loss, freshman pitcher,
Uena Xharo, pitched seven solid innings.
The Lightning scored six runs in the final two innings to break a close game through the first five wide opened for the 9-1 victory in the second game of the doubleheader. Lehman grabbed a 2-0 lead heading into the second inning to start the night cap. An

Alexis Greco. Lehman escape the damage that could have been worse keeping the 2-1 advantage at the end of the inning. The Lightning added a run in the fourth inning before their outburst in the latter innings.
Second baseman
Sasha Roopchand was two for three in the night cap with a pair of singles. Pitching the entire second game,
Ashley Mendez also managed a couple of singles to go two for four.
