Men's Volleyball Falls at Bard in Regular Season Finale, 3-1

Annandale-on-Hudson, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team dropped their final regular season match at non-conference Bard on Friday night, 3-1.  BC finishes the regular season with an 8-20 overall record .  The Bulldogs will take on #2-seed Hunter as the seventh seed in the quarterfinal round of the CUNYAC Championships on Tuesday, April 5th.  Opening serve is scheduled for 6:00 PM at Hunter.  

The Bulldogs got off to a great start to begin the match, winning the first set, 27-25.  Freshman setter Sayuj Zachariah closed out the game with a service ace.  The Bulldogs scored the final three points of the set after a game that went back and forth throughout.  

Bard responded in the second game with a strong statement, opening the set with five unanswered points.  They would roll to a 25-14 victory to tie the match 1-1.  

The home team played even better in the third game, cruising to a 25-10 victory to take the match lead, 2-1.  

BC put up a fight to start the fourth game, only trailing 6-5.  However, the Raptors scored seven unanswered giving them a commanding 13-5 advantage.  With the Bulldogs unable to get a rally together to force a deciding game, the Raptors closed out the match with a 25-13 victory in four.  

The Bulldogs were led by sophomore middle hitter Rudy Zhao's 11 kills and three blocks.  He also had nine digs on the evening.  Freshman outside hitter Vaughn Titus added five kills.  Senior libero Kevin Leung recorded 12 digs for the night.
