Alfred, NY---A stalemate for the first 75 minutes of the match, Alfred University scored a late second half goal in the 76th minute for the game winner to defeat the Brooklyn men's soccer team, 1-0, on the opening day of the Alfred Alumni Classic. The Bulldogs drop to 1-3 overall with the non-conference loss. Alfred improved to 3-1 this evening. BC will wrap up the classic tomorrow against SUNY Canton. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 pm.
"It was a tight game and we were able to keep everyone healthy, but we are still a work in progress as a collective unit," remarked head coach, Joseph Andre. "We missed out on a couple of opportunities that may have turned the tables of the match, and they [Alfred] cashed in on their's. Defensively, I thought we did a solid job."

Andres Pertuz's shot on goal was saved.
The host school finished with 7 shots on goal to BC's 3.
