Montclair, NJ---After winning a big CUNYAC match against Lehman at home on Thursday, the Bulldogs weren't able to get it going at a tri-match at Montclair State today. BC fell to the host in the first match of the day and fell to the College of New Rochelle in the very next match. The Bulldogs drop to 3-12 with the non-conference defeats. Brooklyn will return home to host Baruch in CUNYAC action on Tuesday. Opening serve is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the West Quad Center.
The host would grab complete control of the morning match, jumping out to a 12-2 lead, never looking back. The Bulldogs were led by junior hitter
Sarina Rozek's four kills.
Brooklyn would pick it up a bit in the second match without much rest in-between. However, tied 7-7 to start the first set, New Rochelle rallied for four straight, giving the Blue Angels the cushion they needed to hold off the Bulldogs for the remainder of the set. CNR carried their momentum from the first set to the second, jumping out to an 8-1 lead to start set No. 2. Jumping out to a 3-1 lead to start the third set, the Bulldogs looked like they had new life to avoid the shutout. However, the Blue Angels scored four straight to take a 9-5 advantage and the lead for good. Briana Montana led the Bulldogs with five kills.
