Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Kharko Nets a Pair In Men's Soccer's CUNYAC Win Over John Jay, 2-0

Brooklyn, NY---In a 0-0 stalemate through the first seventy-two minutes of the match, senior forward Valentyn Kharko would score the game winner in the 73rd minute, to help the Bulldogs notch their second CUNYAC win of the season at home, tonight against John Jay.  Brooklyn improves to 5-5-1 overall on the season and remains undefeated in conference play with a 2-0-1 mark.

Controlling the action through the majority of the match, the Bulldogs missed out on a few early scoring opportunities.  However, junior back Omer Capoglu provided the punch off of the bench the Bulldogs needed, sprinting to every loose ball.  His hustle paid off, controlling a free ball and finding Kharko streaking down the right center of the field who crushed it into the net just in front of the goal.  Just under ten minutes later, Kharko scored his second goal of the match and seventh on the season off of a touch pass from Jean-Luc Saint-Fleur.

The Bulldogs outshot the Bloodhounds 21-6 on the afternoon including 9-2 for shots on goal.

Freshman keeper Jerron Streete grabbed his second shutout win of his young BC career.

Brooklyn will be on the road for a very important conference showdown with Staten Island.  Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
