Newe Haven, CT---A scoreless match through the first half, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team wasn't able to answer three Albertus Magnus goals in the final period. The Bulldogs drop to 0-2 to start the season with another non-conference defeat. Brooklyn will be back on the road on Wednesday, 9/7, at Farmingdale State. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
The Falcons scored the winning goal in the 50th minute of the match. Ten minutes later, they scored on a header off of a free kick. Albertus Magnus put the match out of reach only five minutes later on a goal off of a rebound.
Not demoralized by the loss, first-year BC head coach, Joseph Andre explained, "We played them tough in the first half, but three second half goals would be a feat for any team to overcome. We lost a little bit on defense with
Vincent Prince going down in the second half, but I still think we're in good shape all-around. I thought
Jerron Streete had another strong performance in goal for us, making some big saves that kept us in the match throughout."
The Bulldogs were only edged by a shot for the match. However, the Falcons managed three more shots on goal.
Streete finished with six saves on the afternoon in all ninety minutes of action.
