Men's Basketball Falls to No. 24 Denison at Home

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped their fourth game in a row this evening, falling to No. 24 Denison University, 79-52, at home.  Brooklyn moves to 3-9 overall with the loss while the Big Red improves to 9-1 with the victory.  The Bulldogs will be back on the court on Wednesday as they host Medgar Evers in a CUNYAC doubleheader with tip-off scheduled for 7:15 following the women's contest.

A slugfest through the first ten minutes of the opening period, the teams were tied 16-16 at the 9:28 mark.  The Big Red then rattled off 16 straight points for 32-16 advantage in the next five minutes of the first half.  Brooklyn answered with a 5-0 run of their own capped by a three point make by freshman guard Michael Tesoriero, but Dension would close out the half with five unanswered points of their own including a half-court make at the buzzer to give them a 37-21 advantage at the half.

Senior center Enees Nikovic opened the second half with a made jumper for the Bulldogs, but it would be all Denison from that point on.  The Big Red knocked down nine of their fourteen three point makes in the second half to go on to lead by as many as 32 points with just under five minutes to play.

The Big Red outrebounded 60-39 for the game including 21-4 on the offensive boards.

Brooklyn was led by senior guard Austin Wood and freshman guard Michael Tesoriero's 12 points a piece.  Tesoriero was lights out off of the bench shooting 5-6 from the floor including a perfect 2-2 from beyond the arc.  Senior guard Chris McIllhatton led the Bulldogs on the glass with six rebounds for the game.
