Women's Basketball Edged by Lehman on the Road, 64-58

Bronx, NY---Leading 52-45 heading into the last ten minutes of the game, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team was outscored 19-6 in the final period to fall at Lehman, 64-58 this evening.  Brooklyn moves to 12-4 overall and 8-2 in CUNYAC with the loss.  Lehman improved to 10-7 and 7-2 with the conference victory.  The Bulldogs will look to bounce back on Wednesday as they travel to Medgar Evers.  Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm.  

Already leading by seven points to start the fourth quarter, an Olivia Colbert lay-in gave the Bulldogs a 54-45 lead with 9:37 left in the game.  Lehman would then go on a 10-3 run that tied the game 57-57 with 2:23 to go.  The Lightning made the go-ahead free throws a little over a minute later, and then finished in the lane for the 61-57 advantage with twenty-seven ticks left in the game.  Following a made free-throw by junior guard Kailyn Richburg with :17 left, the Lightning made two last stops and converted on three of their last four free throw attempts to seal the victory.  

Trailing by a point heading into the second period, the Bulldogs would make a 14-2 run to take a 32-21 lead with 5:39 left in the first half.  Sophomore guard Lauren D'Agostino knocked down two three-pointers during the stretch.  Lehman steadily chipped away at the BC lead coming within three points at halftime.  

Brooklyn opened the second half with a 12-2 spurt that gave them a 45-32 advantage with 7:35 remaining in the third period.  The Bulldogs took their largest lead of the game (14) less than a minute later.  Again, the Lightning chipped away at the Bulldog lead trailing by seven points going into the final period.  

The Bulldogs were led by Olivia Colbert's 12 points and 11 rebounds.  Junior guard Karen Mak added nine points and five shares on the evening.  

Lehman was led by Marika Gordon's game-high 18 points.
