Brooklyn, NY---In a game that saw 13 different Bulldogs score, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team rolled to a 95-47 victory at Medgar Evers this evening. Brooklyn improves to 13-4 overall and 9-2 with the CUNYAC win. Medgar drops to 1-18 and 1-9 in conference play. The Bulldogs return to action on Friday as they host cross-town non-conference foe, St. Joseph's Brooklyn. Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm at the West Quad Center.
Led by junior guard
Karen Mak's team-high 18 points, two other Bulldog starters reached double-figures in scoring. Senior guard Twanda Holder added 13 points and senior guard
Taylor Gallagher chipped in 10 points on the evening.
Brooklyn came out of the gate in the opening period with a 10-0 run and never looked back. The Bulldogs shot a stifling 52.78% from the floor in the first half, to grab a 57-24 halftime lead.
The Bulldogs' defense also caused the Cougars headaches all night long as they limited MEC to only seven points in both the first and third periods. Medgar did not manage a three-point make on their home court for the game.
Senior forward
Olivia Colbert shot an efficient 3-4 from the floor on her way to nine points for the game. She led the Bulldogs on the boards with six rebounds.
Similar to how they began the contest, the Bulldogs started the second half with a 9-0 run, extending their lead to 42 points with 7:39 remaining in the third period. Brooklyn would lead by as many as 50 points in the game.
Medgar Evers' Elisha Dieudonne led all scorers with 21 points.
