Brooklyn, NY---Playing their second game in less than 24 hours, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team dropped a non-conference match-up at home this afternoon to Skidmore College, 70-63. The Bulldogs move to 14-5 overall with the non-conference defeat. Skidmore improves to 12-7 with the victory. Brooklyn returns to CUNYAC play on Tuesday to host CCNY. Tip-off is slated for 5:00 pm.
Following a sluggish BC start trailing by as many as 15 points in the first half, the Bulldogs clawed their way back within two possessions, cutting the Skidmore lead to 49-45 with 9:46 remaining in the game. The Thoroughbreds responded with an 8-0 including two three-point makes that extended their lead back 12 points with 7:48 to go. Brooklyn pulled within six points on three separate occasions in the final minute of the contest, but that is as close is they would get.

The Thoroughbreds came out of the gate with a 13-0 run to start the game. Brooklyn scored their first first points of the contest on a
Lauren D'Agostino three with 2:51 left in the first period. The Bulldogs trailed Skidmore 19-6 at the end of the opening period. Skidmore continued keep a comfortable lead through the second period, leading by as many as 15 points on two separate occasions.
Brooklyn shot the ball a lot better in the second half, shooting 40% to the first half's 25%. Skidmore was efficient from the floor in the first two quarters of the game, shooting 48.15%. The Thoroughbreds also shot 54.5% (6-11) from beyond the arc for the game.
The Bulldogs did get a nice boost from the bench who scored 31 points to Skidmore's seven points scored by the reserves.

Olivia Colbert led Brooklyn with 14-point, 10-rebound double-double. Fellow starter,
Karen Mak, added 12 points. Junior guard
Kailyn Richburg scored 12 points off of the bench for BC.
Skidmore's leading scorer and rebounder, Kelly Donnelly, led all scorers with 27 points and all rebounders with 12 boards on the afternoon.
