Brooklyn, NY---Second half woes continued for the Brooklyn College men's basketball team this evening as they squandered a 17-point lead, dropping their seventh game in a row to York College this evening, 82-71. Brooklyn falls to 3-12 overall and 1-5 in CUNYAC with the conference loss. It was York's first win of the season as they move to 1-12 and 1-5 with the victory. The Bulldogs continue conference play at home on Wednesday as they host Baruch in a CUNYAC doubleheader. Tip-off is set for 7:15 pm following the women's game.
Coming out of halftime with a fourteen-point lead, senior guard
Chris McIllhatton gave BC their largest lead of the game with made three-pointer on the Bulldogs' first offensive possession of the second half. The two teams would trade baskets for the next four minutes until the Cardinals went on a 13-0 run to tie the game 52-52 with 11:45 remaining in regulation. A made
Austin Wood jumper stopped the BC bleeding temporarily, but York responded on the ensuing possession, tying the game once again. With the Bulldogs leading 57-56, two York makes at the charity stripe gave them their first lead of the contest with 9:55 left in the game.
York kept the lead for the remaining of the game, finishing the contest with their largest advantage of the game. Junior guard
Niv Konfino converted on a couple of free throws to make it a two possession game (76-71) with 1:53 remaining in the contest, but it would be the closest the Bulldogs would get for the remainder of the game.
The Bulldogs were in control the entire first half, exploding out of the blocks with a 9-0 to start the game capped by a three-point make by Wood. Brooklyn sank eight of twenty-four threes in the first half to York's one make beyond the arc. McIllhatton was responsible for three of those first half makes beyond the arc for Brooklyn, pacing the Bulldogs with 10 points. He would finish with 15 points for the game.
Brooklyn cooled down from beyond the arc in the second half, shooting 11.11% (2-18) dropping their percentage for the game down to 24.4%.

Daniel Finkelstein got involved in the Bulldogs' run in the first half, finishing with ten points for game off of the bench. Wood finished with 12 points.
