Madison, NJ---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped their second game of the season this evening, falling to host of the Rose City Classic, Drew University, 97-87, in the first game of the two-day tourney. Brooklyn moves to 0-2 to start the 2017-18 season. Drew improved to 1-1 with the victory. The Bulldogs await their opponent for tomorrow's consolation game, which will be either New Jersey City University or Gwynedd Mercy University.
How It Happened
-With BC trailing 90-82, a lay-in finished by freshman guard Noah Shy made it a two possession game with just over two minutes to play. However, the Rangers responded with a three-point make on the very next possession that kept the Bulldogs at bay for the remainder of the game.
-The Bulldogs would come within two points of the Rangers at the 6:27 mark in the second half following a made three-pointer buried by junior forward, Daniel Shulman.
-Brooklyn wouldn't score their first bucket of the game until the 16:06 mark of the first half. The Bulldogs would settle in, grabbing as large as an eight-point lead with 6:23 left in the opening period following a lay-in finished by senior guard, Ben Batash. Drew would come back, taking a 46-40 lead by halftime.

-Drew shot 54.5% from the field to the Bulldogs' 43.0% including 45.2% to 40.7% from behind the arc.

-Yonathan Napolean led all scorers with 27 points. Riley Collins added 20 points and nine assists.
