Madison, NJ---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped their second game at the Rose City Classic this afternoon, falling to Gwynedd Mercy University, 90-74, in the tournament's consolation game. BC sophomore wing, Henry O'Reilly, would be named to the All-Tournament team thanks to a 21-point effort today. Brooklyn drops to 0-3 to start the season. The Bulldogs will host their Home Opener on Tuesday against the College of New Rochelle as the second part of a non-conference doubleheader. Tip-off is slated for 7:15 pm.
How It Happened
-Brooklyn would take their only lead of the game on the first basket of the game, a made three buried by O'Reilly. GMU responded on the very next possession with a three of their own and took the lead for good with 17:40 left in the opening half on a layup.
-Trailing by as many as 10 points with 12:07 left in the first half, the Bulldogs would chip away at the Griffins lead, pulling within two points following a made three shot by senior guard, Maynard Grant IV. GMU stopped the bleeding and took a 39-33 lead at the half.
-The Griffins struck first with a made three in the opening seconds of the second half, extending their lead to as many as 19 points with 3:16 remaining in regulation.
