Brooklyn, NY---Play closely throughout, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team wasn't able to hold off the College of New Rochelle, falling to the Blue Angels tonight, 86-81. Brooklyn drops to 0-4 to start the season. CNR improves to 1-2. The Bulldogs will be back at home on Monday to host New York University on Monday as the second part of a doubleheader at the West Quad Center.
How It Happened
-With the game tied, 71-71 with 6:35 remaining in regulation, the Blue Angels would take the lead for good beginning with a 6-0 run ending at the 5:15 mark. Brooklyn would claw their way back and a made three shot from straight on by sophomore guard Michael Tesoriero would cut the CNR lead to one with 1:19 left to play. However, the visitor would hold on with two successful trips to the charity stripe to ice the contest.
-Brooklyn would strike first in the second half with a made three buried by senior wing Maynard Grant IV in the opening 50 seconds to give Brooklyn a 46-43 advantage. BC would keep a slim lead through the first few minutes of the second half.
-The teams would exchange leads through the first half before Tesoriero tied the game with a lay-in, 43-43, at the halftime buzzer.
