Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team put forth a valiant effort, but was outlasted by New York University, 74-64, in non-conference action at the West Quad Center this evening. Brooklyn starts the season 0-5 while the Violets improved to 3-1. The Bulldogs will play their conference opener at Hunter College this Friday, December 1st. Tip-off will follow the women's game at 5:30 pm.
How It Happened
-Trailing by 11 points with a little over 13 minutes remaining in regulation, the Bulldogs made one last push, cutting the NYU lead to six in the next thirty seconds. The run was capped by a runner in the lane finished by senior guard,
Niv Konfino. The Violets responded with a 4-0 run to push the lead back up 10 in the next minute of play, keeping the Bulldogs at arm's length the rest of the way.
-The first half would go back and forth throughout. Brooklyn had control early in the game, opening with a made three knocked down by sophomore guard, Michael Tesoriero. A made jumper shot by sophomore wing, Henry O'Reilly, gave BC a 15-11 advantage halfway through the opening period. NYU regained the lead with a three-point play converted at the 7:37 mark.
-Brooklyn had their last lead of the game with 2:04 left in the first half following a Markos Plimakis lay-in.
-NYU took a 31-28 halftime lead on a buzzer-beating tip-in.

-Sophomore guard Michael Tesoriero led Brooklyn with 18 points on 5-9 from the field including 4-6 from beyond the arc. He also dished out a game-high seven assists and grabbed four rebounds.
-Freshman guard Noah Shy was BC's only other double-digit scorer with 11 points.
-Sophomore forward, Markos Plimakis, and senior guard, Maynard Grant IV, led BC in rebounding with seven boards each.
Leading NYU
-Forward Jimmy Martinelli recorded the game's only double-double finishing with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds.
-Forward Dom Cristiano flirted with a double-double, finishing with 17 points and eight rebounds.
