Daytona, FL---The Brooklyn College men's basketball team was unable to overcome a 45-22 halftime deficit, eventually falling, 81-65, to Ithaca College its first game of the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach.  BC drops to 0-9 with loss while Ithaca improved to 7-1.  The Bulldogs will look for their first win of the season tomorrow, 12/29, against Colby-Sawyer College, in their second and final game of the classic.  

How It Happened 

-After a made three knocked down by BC sophomore wing, Henry O'Reilly, to pull the Bulldogs within nine points, 29-20, with 5:05 remaining in the first half, the Bombers responded with a 16-0 run to take their largest lead of the game (25) with 1:02 left in the opening period.  
-Brooklyn cut the Ithaca lead to as few as 14 points, 54-40, with 13:42 remaining in regulation following a made jumper shot by senior guard, Niv Konfino.  
-The teams were tied, 9-9, with 15:11 remaining in the first half.  

Box Score Breakdown 

-The Bombers had ten different players reach in the scoring column on the evening.
-Ithaca shot 50% from the field to BC's 25.81% in the first half.  
-BC was out-rebounded 11-5 on the offensive glass for the game, leading to 12 second-chance points for the Bombers. 

Leading the Bulldogs

-Konfino scored a game-high 18 points and dished out a team-high three assists. 
-Senior guard, Ben Batash, and O'Reilly finished with nine points a piece.  
-Freshman forward, Alpha Bah, came off of the bench to grab a team-high six rebounds.  

Leading Ithaca

-Riley Thompson scored a team-high 15 points. 
-Cooper Macklin added 13 points while Sebastian Alderete chipped in ten points.  
-Peter Ezema grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
