Daytona, FL---Close to completing comebacks throughout the contest, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team wasn't able to get over the hump this evening, falling to Colby-Sawyer, 81-71, in its second and final game at the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona, FL. BC drops to 0-10 with loss while the Chargers improved to 6-2. The Bulldogs will have some rest heading into the New Year before hosting John Jay on Wednesday, January 3rd, in a CUNYAC doubleheader at the West Quad Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 pm following the women's game.
How It Happened
-Trailing the entire contest, the Bulldogs fell behind, 8-0, in the first 2:15 of the game. Despite battling back and cutting the Colby-Sawyer lead to as few as three points on couple of occasions, Brooklyn would head into halftime having to make up a 34-25 deficit.
-The Chargers extended their lead to 11, 36-25, on the first possession of the second half. However, Brooklyn responded with a 6-0 run capped by a made jumper shot by senior guard Maynard Grant IV with 17:51 left in regulation. Freshman forward Alpha Bah scored the first two baskets of the run.
-BC gave the Chargers one final scare with a 8:51 left in the game after a made jumper buried by Brooklyn freshman guard, Noah Shy, cutting the Colby-Sawyer lead to four points, 60-56.
