Bronxville, NY---The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team rolled to their third straight shutout this evening, 3-0 (25-17,25-7, 25-11), in non-conference play at Sarah Lawrence. BC improves to 4-3 with victory. It was Sarah Lawrence's season opener. The Bulldogs continue their non-conference road stretch at Yeshiva University on Wednesday.
Freshman opposite hitter
Ahmed Moawad led BC with nine kills on the evening. The freshman also finished with two blocks. Sophomore outside hitter
Seva Tsyupa added seven kills.
Brooklyn controlled the match from the beginning, jumping out to a 6-1 lead in the first set. Already leading 13-6, the Bulldogs would go on a 5-0 run to extend their lead to 18-6 down the stretch. The Gryphons went on a 5-0 run towards the end of the opening set to cut BC's lead to 22-17, but the Bulldogs responded with three unanswered to close out the set.
The Bulldogs cruised in the second set, jumping out to a 15-3 lead and never looking back. Brooklyn outscored the Gyphons 7-1 while already up 18-6 to close out the second set.
Sarah Lawrence exchanged points at the start of the third set, but the Bulldogs began to pull away with a 6-1 run to take an early 8-3 lead. Brooklyn answered with clusters of points to a Gryphons' score the rest of the way for the convincing victory. Sophomore opposite hitter
Flavio Perez ended the match with a service ace.

Eddie Peng and Tsyupa each had three service aces on the evening. Sophomore setter
Sayuj Zachariah recorded 17 assists in the win.
