Men's Volleyball Wins Fourth in a Row at Yeshiva

New York, NY----The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team won their fourth match in a row tonight, shutting out Yeshiva University 3-0 (25-14,25- 20, 25-18) on the road.  BC improves to 5-3 overall with the victory.  The Bulldogs will be on the road this weekend as they travel to Arcadia University for the Knight Classic where they are scheduled to take on the host and St. Joseph's College Brooklyn.  BC returns home Monday to host CSI and Medgar Evers in a conference tri-match.

Led by freshman opposite hitter Ahmed Moawad's ten kills, the Bulldogs finished with a .182 hitting percentage to the Maccabees' .092.

Brooklyn set the tone early in the match, jumping out to a 9-0 lead in the opening game.  The Bulldogs closed out the set with three straight scores including a set-ending ace served up by sophomore Kamil Kosmider.

The home team stood their ground more than halfway through the second set, only trailing the Bulldogs 18-17.  However, BC rattled off three unanswered points for a 21-17 advantage that kept the Maccabees at bay for the remainder of the match.  Like the opening set, Brooklyn scored three straight to close out the game.

Brooklyn jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the third set that provided a gap for the rest of the match that Yeshiva wasn't able to counter on.  Ironically, BC scored three straight to close out the match.

Junior captain Rudy Zhao added five kills on the evening.  Junior middle hitter Ian Miranda put four kills away for the Bulldogs.
