WEST QUAD CENTER Brooklyn, NY---It was a good start to the conference schedule for the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team who swept through Medgar Evers, 3-0 (25-7, 25-20, 25-9), and College of Staten Island, 3-0, today in their first CUNYAC tri-match of the season. The Bulldogs improve to 7-5 overall with the wins and are 2-0 in conference play. Medgar Evers drops to 0-6 and 0-2 having lost to CSI in the second match of the day. CSI moves to 1-3 and 1-1 with today's split. The Bulldogs remain home on Wednesday to host Yeshiva in non-conference action. BC defeated the Maccabees already this season, 3-0, at Yeshiva.
Setting the tone early in the morning meeting, Brooklyn jumped out to a 12-1 to start the match and never in the first set against MEC. The Bulldogs closed out the game in dominant fashion with a strong kill and a service ace. The Cougars made the second set a little more interesting, matching the Bulldogs point for point through the first three scores. With the Bulldogs leading 14-9, the Cougars were able to tie the set 14-14 with five unanswered. However, BC scored four straight down the stretch of the set, which included three straight service aces. Freshman opposite hitter ended the second set with a kill on a an assist from sophomore setter
Sayuj Zachariah. Brooklyn rolled in the third set, scoring six of the last seven points scored, and scoring in bunches prior to their late attack. Junior outside hitter

Vaughn Titus led the Bulldogs with nine kills, a block, and three service aces. Moawad and Zhao finished with seven kills a piece. Junior setter

In the final match of the day, the Bulldogs came out rolling against CSI with a 7-0 lead in the opening set. After a couple of CSI scores, the Bulldogs rattled off six more unanswered to take a commanding 16-2 lead capped by a
Rudy Zhao kill. Brooklyn closed out the first set with four straight scores. The Dolphins played the next two sets much more closely, jumping out to 2-0 lead to start the second set. With second set tied 11-11, the Bulldogs would go on a 5-0 run thanks to in part to four CSI errors. Brooklyn kept the Dolphins at bay for the remainder of the set and was closed out by an
Ian Miranda kill. The third set of the match would go down as the most suspenseful of the day with both teams going back and forth the entire game. With the Dolphins leading 20-19, a Titus Vaughn kill and two CSI errors gave Brooklyn the 22-20 advantage. The Dolphins would pull within a point on a kill on the ensuing serve, but the Bulldogs scored three of the last four points of the match for the victory. It would be Vaughn once again with a kill for the win.

Ahmed Moawad led BC with 10 kills on 15 total attacks. Zhao had another strong match, finishing with eight kills. Junior middle hitter
